Iran short film ‘Are You Volleyball’ receives Best Film Award from Al-Nahj filmfest

Iran short film ‘Are YOU Volleyball’ receives Best Film Prize from Al-Nahj Film Festival  organized by a Karbala satellite TV station in Iraq.

Directed by Mohammad Bakhshi, ‘Are YOU Volleyball’ won the third prize and was named third best film in the Iraqi film event.

The film features a group of Arabian-spoken asylum seekers who arrive in an English spoken country border and can’t keep going. They conflict with border soldiers every day till a deaf-mute baby becomes a catalyst for better communication between two groups.

The film had earlier won a Guirlande of Honor award in the movies category at the 35th Sport Movies & TV Festival in Milan, Italy.

Al-Nahj International Film Festival invited filmmakers specializing in short films that could be fiction, documentaries or animation to take part in the event.

The 2018 edition of Al-Nahj Film Festival ran from April 1 to 5 in the Iraqi city of Karbala.
